What is it about some weeks of the year that just seem to be a magnet for the events industry? Wouldn’t it be nice if all our clients could get together and agree to spread things out equally across the year? If only…
Luckily we are masters of being in nine places at once, as we proved during one of ‘those’ weeks earlier this year. It started out simple enough, with an annual build for the House of Peroni taking place in central London. This coincided with London Cocktail Week, for which we built custom exhibition stands for not one, not two, but three brands, each one complete with operable cocktail bars.
Then add in a complete vodka brand experience for a brand new client in a pair of railway arches with giant wooden tables with running water down the middle, a sculptural installation of Rye we had to get from Poland and a forest of real trees.
Still no problem for us. But then along came jobs for Clinique in Birmingham, Quadrant Events in Coventry and Lush in Milan. Hmm, now it’s getting a little tricky. Add in a conference and a wedding fayre in Derby and suddenly we’re feeling somewhat hot under the collar.
But we lived to tell the tale, and every client was happy with our delivery that week. Plus we all managed to keep smiling throughout. We couldn’t do it without our amazing team of full timers, part timers and freelancers plus support from the lifters and shifters at Alpha Crew as well as the truck drivers and van drivers who get the right kit to the right place at the right time.
